‘Missing’ an SBS documentary

’Missing’ is an SBS documentary about an abducted schoolgirl and the Pitjantjatjara trackers who searched for her. Working with award winning screen writer Dr Kylie Boltin and the amazing team at SBS, I was responsible for the art direction and design for the project.

Dual narrative storytelling

The documentary is told from two different perspectives, Wendy the missing schoolgirl and Jimmy the Pitjantjatjara tracker. We wanted the visual treatment to be distinctly different.

Interaction design

Users moved through the experience by lining up the fractured landscape to piece together the story, much like a Pitjantjatjara tracker would. A technique called anamorphic optical illusions was employed to achieve this unique experience.
