Australian Open - Fan Fit

Two activation experiences were created for the Fan Fit program at the Australian Open to promote health and wellbeing.

Situated in Rod Laver Arena, we welcomed fans to test their eye sight and reactions in two interactive experiences over the course of the Grand Slam event.

Hawkeye

The first experience encouraged tennis fans to challenge their eye sight against the infamous Hawkeye line call system. Accompanied by slow motion replays, directional speakers and of course the classic ‘slow clap’ we were able to deliver a short, fun experience full of the drama and atmosphere that tennis fans know and love.

Quick catch

Our second activation experience challenges reaction time and put the fans into the stands to catch as  many tennis balls as they can in 30 seconds. Using Kinect sensors, virtual tennis balls were launched towards players at different speeds. A lot of pre production work was spent making the experience feel intuitive and natural.
